Meet the hormones

Estrogen — Your energy and confidence hormone. She rises to rebuild your uterine lining and drives the clarity, motivation, and glow you feel in Spring and Summer.

Progesterone — Your calming, nurturing hormone. She rises after ovulation to prepare your body for a possible pregnancy, and her drop is what triggers your bleed.

FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) — The wake up call. She signals your ovaries to start growing a follicle for the next egg.

LH (luteinizing hormone) — The trigger. Her surge is what actually causes ovulation to happen.

Testosterone — Yes, you have it too. She shows up in a small but mighty way around ovulation, adding to your drive, libido, and confidence.

Sis, your body isn’t random. Every mood shift, energy dip, and craving has a reason.. and that reason is hormones. You’ve already met each phase on her own. Now let’s zoom out and see how it all connects, because your cycle isn’t four separate switches flipping on and off. It’s one continuous loop, and each phase is quite literally what causes the next one to begin.

Medically, your cycle really only has two main phases: the Follicular Phase (from day one of your period through ovulation) and the Luteal Phase (from ovulation to your next period). But so much changes within each of those halves that lumping them together doesn't tell the full story. That's why we split them further into four seasons you can actually feel: Winter and Spring make up your Follicular Phase, and Summer and Autumn make up your Luteal Phase. Same science, just broken down in a way that matches what's actually happening in your body and mood along the way.

The Full Loop

It starts in Winter, your Menstrual Phase, when estrogen and progesterone both bottom out. That drop is what triggers your bleed, and at the same time, it wakes up FSH (follicle stimulating hormone), which quietly starts prepping your ovaries for the next round.

FSH carries you into Spring, your Follicular Phase, coaxing a follicle to grow. As it grows, it releases estrogen, and that’s where your “I’m back” feeling comes from.. rising energy, rising clarity, rising motivation.

Estrogen keeps climbing until it peaks in Summer, your Ovulatory Phase, and that peak is exactly what triggers a surge in LH (luteinizing hormone). LH is the trigger for ovulation itself. Testosterone gets a small lift here too, which is part of why this phase can feel like peak confidence and magnetism.

Once the egg releases, the empty follicle transforms into the corpus luteum, and it starts producing progesterone, carrying you into Autumn, your Luteal Phase. Progesterone is what prepares your uterine lining, just in case. But if there’s no pregnancy, the corpus luteum breaks down, progesterone and estrogen both drop.. and that drop is what starts Winter all over again.

Same loop, every cycle. Once you can see it as one continuous story instead of four separate phases, it gets a lot easier to understand why you feel the way you feel, when you feel it.
